How Do Cities Get Started? Integrating Circular Economy Into City Plans
Hear what circular economy strategies ended up in Fort Collins’ Economic Health Strategic Plan and from Metabolic on some of their favorite strategies from across the U.S. and Europe. Also, hear about what strategies are missing from plans and what is needed if there are gaps to close. Participants are encouraged to share their favorite strategies (either actual case studies or ideas they have), which will be captured and shared back with the group after the session.

Webinar 16. Smart Specialization Strategies and Sustainability
The webinar “Smart Specialization Strategies and Sustainability” organized by the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Latin America (IURC-LAC) Programme sougth to show reflections related to the sustainability dimension of smart specialisation strategies and their deployment in the industrial (industrial policies and sustainability) and local (entrepreneurship and innovation Hubs) dimensions. The presentations aimed to generate inspiration on how to mobilise research and innovation to address the SDGs in various territorial contexts, including places facing institutional and structural challenges. The framework is based on an inclusive approach to thinking about innovation and innovation policy, seeing them as central to fostering the transition to sustainability in all territories. It also delves into the concept and importance of regenerative design and platform design in the context of Smart Specialisation Strategies.
