The MUFPP & IURC Asia Pacific Food Policy Training is a series of 6 webinars developed by the MUFPP Secretariat and the IURC programme to enrich the knowledge of Asia Pacific cities on food policy development.
Following the fifth category of the Milan Pact, Food Supply & Distribution, the webinar will present a variety of actions and measures cities are taking to ensure a sustainable, fair and efficient supply and distribution of food to and within their urban areas. Different approaches such as developing green public procurement and trade policies, supporting municipal public markets, improving food transport and distribution infrastructure can cater for fresher, seasonal and more affordable food.
This event was organized by the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Latin America (IURC-LAC) Programme. It’s objective was to discuss the role of urban planning in either reproducing or deconstructing gender inequalities in cities and showing how adapting urban environments to a variety of needs and identities can contribute to necessary social, sustainable, and economic transformation.
