We are very pleased to invite you to join us for the webinar “Right to Green: Building Parks through Community Engagement. Case Studies from Barranquilla, Essen, and Fortaleza”. The event is organized by the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Latin America (IURC-LAC) Programme on Wednesday, March 22nd at 09:00 CDT/16:00 CST. The webinar will have a duration of 75 minutes and offer simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The webinar seeks to open up a technical discussion on the provision of inclusive access to green areas in cities. Three international experiences on the creation of micro-parks and the implementation of greening strategies, with strong participatory methodologies and community engagement approaches, will be discussed to highlight opportunities and challenges. These include:

◽ Barranquilla (Colombia): presentation of the “Todos al Parque” award-winning project and its evolution. See more information in the attached PDF.
◽ Essen (Germany): design and creation of Tiny Forests to bring nature closer to communities.
◽ Fortaleza (Brazil): development of Microparques networks to recover public spaces.
◽ Panel discussion and Q&A
