Within the framework of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Program (IURC Latinoamérica,), financed by the European Commission, a delegation from the Argentine city of Mar del Plata, visited the city of Genoa, Italy, from September 29 to October 3, 2022.
The Mar del Plata delegation was composed of Santiago Bonifatti (Secretary of Government of the Municipality), Lucia Bonifatti and Tatiana Fontana (Undersecretary of modernization), they were received by Alessandra Bianchi (Deputy Major for Tourism and Sport) and Matteo Campora (Deputy Major for Transport, Environment and Energy).
In the bilateral meetings they discussed common challenges related to Digitalization and Sustainable Tourism Management.
The visit was organized by Gianluca Saba, Barbara Poggio and Sabrina Bruzzone (International Affairs Office), who coordinated three days of activities: technical meetings and field visits. Particulary relevant were the meetings with professionals of the Digitalization Municipal Office, the Liguria Digitale Public Company, the Municipal Tourism Office and with professionals from the University of Genoa.

In the coming months, both teams will continue to hold technical sessions and prepare the Study Visit to Mar del Plata, scheduled for March 2023.
