As part of the cooperation activities between the Silesian Voivodeship (Poland) and the State of ParanĂ¡ (Brazil), a delegation of 7 high-ranking officials from Silesian Voivodeship carried out their study visit in ParanĂ¡ from March 21st through March 23rd, 2022, including Jakub CheÅ‚stowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.

During the study visit to ParanĂ¡, the Silesian Voivodeship delegation had the opportunity to learn about the regional innovation ecosystem of ParanĂ¡ and the way companies and institutions were responsible for their support function.

Technology and knowledge transfer, and joint R&D&I are seen as opportunities to promote cooperation between regions and their respective institutions (technology centers, business incubators, universities, etc.), start-ups, and companies in some sectors such as automotive, health, and environment, mining, and Oil&Gas. Both regions consider technology as a supporting tool for their regional development.

Parana delegates facilitated strong networking activities to promote joint projects and initiatives. In this sense, both regions will take advantage of potential synergies in terms of entrepreneurship, R&D&I, and networking among Brazilian and Polish start-ups, companies, and institutions to establish business contacts. In the following months both regions will continue their cooperation, discussions and virtual exchanges to strengthen their regional innovation ecosystems and business opportunities.
